Water and Sound

babble - balbuciar

bubble - borbulhar

cascade - cascatear

drip - gotejar, pingar

fall - cair

flood - inundar

flow - correr, fluir

flush - correr, jorrar

drop - cair, tombar

gurgle - gorgolejar

gush - borbotar, esguichar, jorrar

hiss - sibilar, silvar

murmur - murmurar

pitter patter - gotejar, pingar

pour - cair, derramar, escorrer

roar - rugir

spatter - gotejar,respingar, pingar

spill - derramar

spit - espirrar

splash - bater, chapinhar, marulhar

splatter - chapinhar, marulhar, respingar, salpicar

spray - aspergir, salpicar

sprinkle - borrifar, orvalhar

2. All the verbs above can take -ing. For example: whispering, dripping, swishing, pouring, and so on.

3. Most of the verbs above can also be used as nouns. For example:
a spray, a sprinkle (um chuvisco, um orvalho, um salpico); a swish (um cicio), a hiss (um silvo), a whisper (um sussurro), and so on.
